Remember When…
…you had to go to your homeroom before classes? Or when you had to go to the blackboard and write “I will not chew gum in class” 10 times? Perhaps you were the type of student who performed on stage in the auditorium or spent dreadful time in the principal’s office!
Now your homeroom can be your bedroom. Chewing gum can be written on your own blackboard grocery list. Live in the principal’s office drinking fine wine or relax on your sofa in the 2,200 grand auditorium apartment.
Kirby School Apartments boasts 40 renovated studio, one, two and three bedroom units, all preserving some part of Old Kirby School’s history.
The 50,000 square foot apartment building will be divided into apartments ranging from 560 to over 2,000 square feet. Each apartment has its own unique character – exposed ductwork, original wood floors, high-end kitchen appliances, updated heating and air-conditioning, washer and dryers, high ceilings and almost all original glass windows. Kirby School Apartments will have security controlled access, off-street parking, and easy walking accessibility to downtown Northside. The apartments will be priced according to the market rate, serving a growing need for the demanding Northside rental community.
Built in 1910, Northside’s Kirby Road School is listed on the National Register of Historic Places in Cincinnati, Ohio. The late 19th century neo-classical revival-style building served Cincinnati’s early education system from 1910 until 2012 when Cincinnati Public Schools sold the property to Bloomfield/Schon+Partners.
